Programs to Help You
Reception/ Intake
Any member of the community can call us and seek information.
Tuesday Drop-in Program
Every Tuesday morning from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, anyone can drop into our Centre
and get housing help services from a counsellor.
Housing Help Program
Housing counselling is tailored to meet the specific situations and needs of
our clients. The goal of this program is to provide information, referral,
advocacy, mediation and other support in order to help clients find and
maintain their housing.
Eviction Prevention
When individuals and families face eviction, our workers at the Centre
can help by working with landlords and tenants to try and prevent the eviction.
Rent Bank Program
Our Centre administers the Toronto Rent Bank Program for working
individuals who are at risk of eviction from their current accommodations as a
result of non-payment of rent.
Utilities Program
Our Centre administers the Utilities Program for low income clients
who are in arrears with their Enbridge and/ or Hydro bill and are at risk of
disconnection.
Landlord Outreach Program
Our Centre works to reach all private property owners and management
companies in Scarborough to encourage listing their vacancies with the Centre.
Landlords can register their units for FREE with our Centre.
Streets to Homes Follow-up Support Program
This program is focused on successful housing stability for
individuals housed directly from the street through the City of Toronto. This
program is dedicated to improve individual clients' like skills and sustain
their tenancy.
High Priority Neighbourhood Project
This program is focused to reach clients agencies in the 6 High
Priority Neighbourhoods to educate and assist with access to the services
provided by our Centre.
John Howard Society (Partnership Agency)
A Housing Counsellor works with males over the age of 18 who have been
in conflict with the law or released from correctional facilities, and helps
with the transition back into the Scarborough Community.
